City Hill Middle School

The Naugatuck High School Marching Band will host THUNDER IN THE VALLEY, its annual marching band competition on Saturday, October 23, 2004. This year’s competition is to be one of the most exciting in years with 15 bands in competition, along with Central Connecticut University Marching Band and the award winning Naugatuck High School Marching Band in exhibition. This will be the last time the top five class 5 bands will compete at one show until Musical Arts Conference Championships in November. We are pleased to have bands from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey in competition.

The competition will begin promptly at 4pm with the National Anthem performed by City Hill Middle School, Hillside Middle School, and the NHS Bands. Please join us to enjoy the music, sights, and sounds of our talented youth. It will definitely be an exciting event as the bands combine marching with music, dance, choreography and visual presentations. This year’s show will be sponsored by the Musical Arts Conference.

The competition will be held at the Naugatuck High School, on Rubber Avenue. Shuttle busses will run continually from designated down town parking lots. Tickets will be sold at the gate. Admission is $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for seniors and students. Gates will open at 3:00 P.M. There will be Concessions sold at Marti’s Place on campus.
