Thanks to our Parent Group for sponsoring all of those informative Monday evening meetings.
Students in Mrs. Rotatori's 8th grade language arts class conducted a mock trial as a culminating activity following the reading of the novel Killing Mr. Griffin. In connection with this activity Detective Kelly Grant from the Naugatuck Police Dept. visited the class to provide specific information regarding the various crimes committed in the story. The students were able to practice speaking in front of their peers, present convincing arguements for both sides, organize their information, and learn terms related to Connecticut and federal laws.
